Google has announced the rollout of Google Gemini screen automation. This feature is also known as Gemini task automation, and is available on the Pixel 10 series as a special part of the March 2026 Feature Drop. Last month, the feature was first added to the lineup of the Samsung Galaxy S26. According to 9To5Google, it will now be available on Google’s own devices.

Gemini screen automation feature lets the Gemini AI assistant to perform tasks easily within the supported apps based on user prompts. The apps related to booking rides and ordering food requires users to manually go through each step. Earlier this week, Google reportedly started rolling out Gemini task automation in beta form to the Samsung Galaxy S26 series.

What Gemini Task Automation Can Do

Android AI automation tools are designed to take care of the regular actions across different apps without any manual effort. Despite opening apps and finishing the task step by step, users can just allow a prompt, and the assistant follows up the required things.

Take an example. If a user needs to place an order for food on Zomato or even book a ride OLA, Gemini can enter locations, find menus, and add products to the cart on its own. All other things will runs in the background. The users can easily perform other activities like messaging and browsing. Things can be easily done without any interruption.

‘Notification’ will show the progress of the order. At any point in time, phone users can step in if required. The system will stop after the final confirmation step from the side of the user. According to Google, in the Pixel 10 Gemini update, users get options like “View progress” and “Stop task.” The setting is also available on the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, but it is reportedly not mentioned.
